From the punishment of unfaithful Israel in the Bible to more recent scourges of widespread disease, history is replete with the providential changes and directions that ensued. Diseases have sent people to their knees in repentance or defiance. This lecture will survey some of the more destructive and history-shaping events that resulted from widespread disease of various kinds and show how the Bible treats the subject of disease in history.
